Sawtooth- Secret Vietnamese on Randolph St.
I like Sawtooth. I’ve been a few times since it’s in my ‘hood. It’s on Randolph but on the side… closer to Ashland… in the same block as BellyQ (which just started lunch, BTW). It’s a swanky and modern vibe with some seriously tasty food.
The menu at Sawtooth is huge and there are a ton of light options, which I always appreciate. The play on sweet, acidic and spicy is one of the reasons I love Vietnamese food and this place has it all goin’ on. Here are a few examples:
Fried Spring Rolls
Seafood and Lotus Stem Salad
Shrimp & Veggies
Smoked Eggplant with Basil and a Sweet Lime Fish Sauce
I’ve also had the Saigon-style crepe and the the beef pho, both of which are fab. There’s a ton of other stuff I want to try like the duck salad with mint, peanuts and shallots, claypot catfish, seafood glass noodles & green papaya salad. Check out the menu for yourself. I’ll be back soon!
